August Wrap Up

Can you believe it is almost September?? We started this project 8 months ago and we are still so tickled at how many amazing changes have been made!

I would love to hear how your August change went or is going. Please feel free to leave a comment and let us know...if you blogged about it, please leave a link to your blog post!

Also...if you have any ideas for September changes, you can leave these suggestions in the comments as well!

Congratulations on finishing up another month of One Small Change!

  1. My August change was to fine tune my previous changes. The one significant change was that I was much better about carrying my to go ware utensils in my bag. There was only 1 instance where I actually used it, but that was one instance that I would have used a plastic fork...so victory!

  2. My August Change is to buy a CSA share http://condo-blues.blogspot.com/2010/08/one-small-change-buy-csa-share.html. It's reduced our recycling and trash to almost nil and forcing us to get creative in the kitchen cooking new foods. I also have a bunch of veg in the freezer for winter.

  3. i am behind! but here's one i noticed today that i didn't realize we had made: for his b-day in may, i gifted my husband a shaving soap mug and soap, plus a straight razor (he wanted to try it!). no more plastic disposable razors!

  4. My August change was to learn more food preservation techniques... And I did! I made several new kinds of jams/jellies, pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi, and even a plum liqueur - all new skills to me. Some turned out well, and others not as great (lacto-fermented lemon cuke pickles that were really mushy). But it's all a learning experience! I think this will carry over well into September, as my garden is just now producing lots of cucumbers and tomatoes.

  5. Awesome changes with the food preservation. I guess I can say I did more of that this summer than I ever have...so another victory!

And Kendra...love the switch to a straight razor! Isn't it funny to make a change without even realizing it!

  6. I haven't made any new changes since April because I was having a hard time keeping up with the ones I had already made! I blogged about that tonight and about my progress on our "eat seasonally" change:

  7. I have not broken ground on my garden, so that goal moves into September.

I love the straight razor idea. I was just wondering if those were still available as I was buying razor heads (and spending a small fortune) a couple of days ago.
