It's time for a check in! How are your January changes going so far? Have you started yet? Are you still thinking of a change? Did you change your mind? Is it easier or harder than you thought? Good or bad, we want to hear how it is going!
And remember we have a super awesome giveaway at the end of the month from The Peaceful Peacock! So keep on checking back!

My change was one that I have wanted to do for a very long time. We finally switched from disposable straws to glass reusable! The switch was easy and fun and very inexpensize! The kids and I are now drinking our daily smoothies out of cute glass straws!
ReplyDeleteOur change is to slowly cutout chemical cleaners- so to make it more 'in my face' I've decided I'm going to sell Norwex! Haha my friends think I'm a bit nutty to take it to this level, but it'll be good... Right? ;) so far the 'no chemicals' part is going good... But we're all sick, so I'm having a hard time not reaching for the clorox wipes to wash everything down... Must remember: chemicals can be more harmful than germs... :) wish me luck!!
ReplyDeleteit has gone better thank anticipated.... we have ivy plants in all the children's room, lily in the front room and ferns in some corners. just seeing them there- has me breathing better!
ReplyDeleteTif, I just love having plants in the home! Glad you are enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteMama Michie...I think that is great! I just bought a pack of norwex cloths and I have really loved them! Good luck with your new venture...if you are passionate about something then it makes it really easy to sell!
As anyone else in northern NSW knows, we've been getting a ton of rain of late which has made my goal to put more time and effort into the garden a bit difficult so far...
ReplyDeleteEvery weekend I have been gathering basil for pesto and now have a really good stock saved up in my freezer. I'm thinking of freezing a few more of my more abundent herbs, like parsley next.
We've also had two sunny days in a row(!!) and it looks like today's also going to be another dry one, so I might jump in and start my new veggie patch and soil prep today!
We are moving to a wholefood diet. It has been going well but does take a lot more prep time. I would say at present we are doing about 50/50 wholefood. My goal by the end of this year is that we will be at 90/10.
ReplyDeleteso far so good; no restaurants, only good meals at home or at relatives :)
ReplyDelete(and I still LOVE my glass containers!)
I love hearing all the great responses! Keep up the amazing work folks!!
ReplyDeleteWe are doing fairly well at our primary goal of eliminating our use of paper towels as napkins. My husband has even jumped on board and started using cloth napkins at his desk (we both work from home).
ReplyDeleteHusband has also been saving coffee grinds for the compost.
Yesterday we purchased 5 new plants for the house, a few cacti, an aloe plant, and a mint plant. I can't wait to harvest some fresh mint. Today I am going resale shopping to find some good pots to plant them all in.
We also had an accidental improvement. My husband switched out a ziploc for a plastic container we already had to use when storing cheese in the fridge. Even though we reused the ziplocs, this container still makes more sense. And, my husband did it all on his own, which made me very happy! :-)
I haven't bought ANY paper towels. AND I'm super duper proud because I've reduced the use of them at the bar where I work. Slowly - but surely. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been making small changes in my life but by commiting here I think I can really make it happen.
ReplyDeleteMy goal was to join a CSA this month and finally commited to it today.
Le me see what I can commit for February,
